Angie specializes in Hawaiian Mana Lomi ® massage, a holistic approach to wellness passed down through generations. Lomi lomi is a holistic approach, addressing not only muscles and tendons, but also addressing fascia and ligaments, movement of joints, alignment of bones, and emotional connections within the body. We work light to deep with the natural rhythm of your breath, affecting the nervous system and lymphatic complex while gradually working through several layers of soft tissue, penetrating deep "into the bones."
Mana Lomi decreases muscle pain and tension by breaking up fibrous deposits and lactic acid, improving circulation of blood and lymph, eliminating toxins and edema, alleviating muscle spasm, and increasing metabolism.
Angie also enjoys working with Injury Rehabilitation. She uses effective techniques to rehabilitate clients following car accidents and surguries. These skills were learned first hand while recovering from 4 knee surjuries of her own. She has cumulative knowledge about the body and movement from her 20+ years of having an active lifestlye, beginning with soccer, volleyball, and softball in her youth. She has been a student of of yoga for 15 years and has a background of Tai Chi and Qigong. In 2012, Angie began her study and practice of Gyrokenesis, Gyrotonic and the Alexander Technique with Robyn Avalon.
She combines her knowledge of anatomy with compassionate presence to create an individualized session based on your needs. She is committed to listening to what you want to receive from each session and to listening to your body to gauge how deep we work. She will empower you to see positive changes happening by helping you notice improvements, no matter how small they may seem.
